Color Coated Aluminum Coil’s Paint Layer Flexibility

Firstly brief introduction, the tester wind up the color coated plate to 180° bend, and inspect whether the paint layer has destruction phenomena such as cracking, falling off, etc with the aid of low- power magnifier which is 5 to 10 times magnification. The test can be ended when no cracking phenomena on the paint layer. This is the most effective way to test the paint flexibility. Please see the following detail test procedure to distinguish the flexibility degree.

  Now taking a test color coated aluminum sample, the size is 25mm*350mm. When testing, the tester should use a vice clamp with smooth clamp bushing to clamp the sample at the 13-20mm end side of length direction, and roll the sample of itself over 90 ° by paint face outside, then reuse the vice clamp to coincide together the two faces, that is total bend 180°. This is 0T. The paint layer is qualified if visible checking no paint layer cracking or falling off. If seeing paint layer cracking or falling off, tester should continue same procedure rolling the same test sample itself to bend another 180°, now this is called 1T, third time 180°bending is 2T, forth time 180°bending is 3T, by such analogy, to end the test when no cracking or falling off of the paint layer.
