The reasons for the defects formation reasons are various. The common reasons are as the following five categories.

1.    Raw Material.

The paint and bare aluminum coil are the most influential factors in the coating process. Due to the different paint batches has color difference, the low coating rate because the less paint fineness and the poor assort of coating and solvent or layered, etc. will directly affect the coating effect and case defects.

The bare aluminum coil is not smooth, uneven PVC film, edge deflection is also a direct impact on product quality and overall use. Therefore, it should be strictly controlled in the raw materials choosing.

2.    Equipment

The coating equipment is required to be smooth and can’t have horizontal and vertical jitter. The coating roller requires fine grinding. All the rollers of the coating machine should be controlled within the permissible range. Otherwise the surface quality of the coating will be seriously affected.

3.    Technology

The coating technology is closely related to the quality of the coating. It requires the ratio of the coating roller, the paint roller, the measuring roller and the substrate relative to the wire speed should be controlled within a certain range. To set a certain degree of viscosity according to the different system and coating product paint thickness to ensure smooth coating and promote the improvement of product quality. Paint curing process and oven control must be controlled as required which shall not be arbitrarily changed. Otherwise, it will seriously affect the color and performance of the pre-painted aluminum coil. 

4.    Environment

The painting room is required to be clear and clean, dustproof, pest-proof, and a certain ventilation performance to ensure the coating surface quality from pollution. At the same time, to change the technology conditions according to temperature changes.

5.    Human factors

The operator’s responsibility, the technical proficiency and the operation normative is the key to a high quality coating effect. Therefore, enterprises should try to strengthen the training of the operator and let the operator master the principles and key points of painting technology, strengthen the responsibility. S&P Global Platts China Steel Sentiment Softens In August

Higher Prices Expected to Deter New Orders, Mills See Improved Export Market

BEIJING (August 15, 2017) – Chinese steel market sentiment remained robust at the beginning of August but the outlook for steel orders was softer than the month before as mills and traders expected some resistance to higher steel prices, according to the latest S&P Global Platts China Steel Sentiment Index (CSSI), which showed a headline reading of 50.75 out of a possible 100 points.

The August CSSI edged down by 4.56 points from 55.32 in July, but stayed above the 50 point threshold for the second consecutive month.

A reading above 50 indicates expectations of an increase/expansion and a reading below 50 indicates a decrease/contraction. The headline index has only breached 50 points twice in 2017.

The outlook for domestic steel orders softened by 6.73 points from last month to 51.56 in August, but there was a marked improvement in expectations for export orders, which rose by 20.47 from July to 41.50 in August.

The outlook for long steel product prices fell by 4.17 points to 62.50, while expectations for flat steel prices deteriorated by 13.81 points from July to 77.86 in August.

Expectations for crude steel production was down just 3.54 points on the month before, while steel inventories held by traders were generally expected to keep falling.

“Chinese mills and traders are enjoying high prices and strong margins and are therefore generally upbeat about market conditions. The reason the headline index this month isn’t as high as might be expected is because steel prices have risen so much recently that they feel this could deter appetite for purchasing material. That said, most survey participants expected steel prices to remain high in the month ahead,” said Paul Bartholomew, senior managing editor of steel & raw materials for S&P Global Platts.

“Though there has been a marked improvement in the outlook for new export orders in August, it is more a case of ‘things can’t be as bad as last month’. This doesn’t necessarily mean that China’s steel exports are set to surge again,” said Bartholomew.

“The outlook for long and flat steel product prices fell this month but both came off high readings in July. Steel production is expected to remain fairly stable over the next month, and mills will need to decide whether to carry out summer maintenance or keep output high to take advantage of the strong market,” he said.

The CSSI is based on a survey of 75 to 90 China-based market participants including traders and steel mills.

According to S&P Global Platts price assessments, separate to the CSSI, the Platts China export hot rolled coil price averaged $493.1 per metric ton (mt), free on board (FOB) China in July. This was up 11% on $444.3/mt FOB in April.

The impact of anti-dumping to Steel market

One of my Pakistan friends shared news that their Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif faces lifetime disqualified against for corruption. This man person finance minister imposed CRC (cold rolled steel), GI (Galvanized steel) and next PPGI (Pre-painted Galvanized steel) antidumping duties from local mill paid black money after imposed for steel business. My friend said it is really very good news for Pakistan.

What conclusion you can get from this sharing? To me, I can see Pakistan steel business man is sick of the anti-dumping policy and the big impact of steel to construction industry.

Firstly, why say Pakistanis hate the anti-dumping policy? As we all know, this country is a big steel import country because his local steel mill is few. However, due to economic conditions and many other factors, their importers and end users tend to use low quality products to achieve the lowest cost. Once the implementation of anti-dumping, due to the high import tariffs, their import costs will increase dramatically, even worse, business man must buy domestic high-price steel. The cost increases, the profit margins will be relatively reduced. If profit less, business will be hard to continue.

Steel products, especially galvanized steel plate, galvalume steel plate, pre-painted steel plate affect much of the construction industry. Buildings, construction, transportation, Home appliances, Agriculture and other applications use steel material. A reasonable price can meet reasonable quality. Now the steel market is more transparent, and a reasonable market price is one of important factors for stable building material industry

development. Therefore, the buyer cannot ignore the quality of the commodity itself only in pursuit of lower prices.

No low price, no low quality, then the probability of anti-dumping will be small, and the steel market will be running better.
