Galvalume Steel (Aluminum-zinc Coating Steel)

Galvalume steel composition is 55% aluminum,43.3% zinc and 1.6% silicon.The plate has smooth surface and excellent corrosion resistance of the atmosphere,which is 2 to 6 times higher than hot-dipped galvanized steel if same thickness of plating coating.After three processes,including payoff reel,crop shear and welding,enter into the continuous annealing furnace.During the annealing process,strips are heated closer to the recrystallizing temperature,then heated to 20~50 above the recrystallizing temperature in the reducing furnace.After keeping the same temperature for 170s,strips are naturally cooled to the normal temperature in the slow cooling process.Afterward,strips enter into the ZN-AL pot through the elephant's trunk and begin in the hot-dip coating process.The optimum temperature range of the plating coat is 630-660℃.Coated with aluminum-zinc alloy,strips enter into the cooling tower by the steady roll and air knife.After fast cooled with wind or water,they are directly produced into Al-Zn armor plates.The general rate of cooling 30/s or so,and strips are cooled to about 60℃.

Galvalume has three to six times better corrosion resistance compared to zinc coated galvanized steel sheet of the same coating thickness.

The capacity ratio of the aluminum in coated layer of galvalume is over 80%,enaling the products to withstand a prolonged temperature of 315 degrees celsius without discoloration or oxidization.

Galvalume provides high energy efficiency with its superior heat reflectivity,resulting in low heat consumption.

Galvalume has better adhesiveness of paints to its coated layer compared to galvanized steel sheet.The workability of galvalume is similar to that of galvanized steel.The ability to suppress fine cracks on the coating layer enhances the durability of the processed area.
